After having 2 previous sets of veneers and being very unhappy with them i decided this time to do it properly and find a dentist to give me the teeth of my dreams. After researching a number of surgeries i decided to go with Rob at St Johns because of how seriously he took my situation at consultation and the time he gave to explaining things to me and listening to what i wanted rather than what he thought i wanted. Also the treatments quoted were competitively priced.

I decided to make my veneers as thin as possible by having my own teeth straightened underneath and Rob advised i have my bottom teeth straightened at the same time as the cost difference made it worth doing. This was in hindsight the best decision and made all the difference to the finished result! We achieved this by using the Clearstep system. The braces are practically invisible and i got on with my life as normal during the process. They were comfortable, easy to look after and i could keep my existing veneers while they were being straightened which was a huge relief. 16 steps later and around 6 months my teeth were amazingly straight, my smile is so much wider and flatter.
After my teeth were in position i had to put together a photo montage of teeth shapes, styles and colours that i like and didn’t like so that my veneers could be made perfectly for me. I had 4 front veneers to replace my existing ones. I was impressed with the amount of time Rob took in fitting and shaping my new veneers, this was completely different from my previous experience! I was consulted about colour, shape and feel at all times during the process and was also given the option to go away and see if i wanted anything altering.
The finished look is perfect for me – they completely feel and look like my own teeth and more importantly they are exactly how i wanted them to be. Its been 3 months now and i have had absolutely no problems with them, i wear my retainers each night to keep my teeth in position and thats it. My boyfriend however gets annoyed by me asking him ‘how amazing are my teeth?!’ on a regular basis! My family were so impressed my dad is currently half was through his Clearstep course with Rob and is having 12 veneers in the spring – i CANNOT wait to see his finished result!

During the period December 2008 to November 2009 I have significant dental work to re-design my bite, repair broken teeth, fit numerous crowns and onlays and re-design my smile.
My concerns at the start of the treatment were would the end results justify the expense, could I fit in the treatment around my long work schedule and could I trust the workmanship.
I am delighted to say that my concerns were unfounded. I now have a bright natural smile and shapely teeth with perfect bite function. I chew my food properly, they are easy to maintain and I receive unprompted compliments, even from people who do not know the work was undertaken.
Appointments were available, with planning, at unsociable times which enabled me to work around my hectic diary. Rob stuck to his original estimates- even though one or two unforeseen problems arose- and he was half the price quoted by a cosmetic dentist in Surrey. But he did not cut corners.
The workmanship and attention to detail was first class, if Dr Tennet wasn’t happy with the technicians craftsmanship he would ruthlessly reject it, and only fit crowns he was totally happy with. I was very comfortable with his high aesthetic standards.

But for me the most enjoyable part of the experience was the friendliness and informality of the entire team, from Amy on reception, the cheeky but charming dental assistants and Rob himself, always made time to chat, get to know a bit about you and put you at complete ease. Of my 27 or so appointments, only one was uncomfortable, and yet the whole team cared and shared in that discomfort! I am so pleased with the outcome. My only regret? Not doing it years before. I am delighted to recommend them.

Was it worth it? Well now I can eat with confidence, smile with confidence and face a dental future with confidence and no one would know I had had an implant!

Following recent treatment for Implants/Bridge work, I would comment as follows:
- Benefits include more confidence with life being made so much easier. I am more than satisfied with the result.
- The advice I would give to others considering similar treatment is 'Go for it'.
- Initially the cost seems daunting/prohibitive, but the results are well worth the outlay.
- I consider the patient care at St. Johns to be Excellent.

Prior to treatment it's understandable to feel slight anxiety to the prospect of having your teeth re-shaped with a dentists drill / file / contouring device. the treatment itself was completely painless, absolutely no discomfort / pain / feeling at all. The dentist and nurse were polite and professional with an excellent possitive attitude which helped me to relax. I felt fully involved in the re-shaping process, being frequently consulted on my views and how the teeth would change. This involvement was very assuring that I was getting exactly the result I wanted. The end result was fantastic and suprising how such a small amount of change in teeth length and shape (less than a mm) can have a massive improvement on your smile and overall tooth symmetry. I personally feel much happier with my teeth / smile and after years of just accepting small teeth imperfections, feels great to have them rescued in such an impressive, painless and relatively quick proceedure. It may seem a quite crude proceedure to file / drill teeth into a better shape, but the end result is worth it and I would thoroughly recommend teeth contouring to everyone.
