Sue

Sue Fernyhough, our long-standing Hygienist is sitting down for twelve weeks following a knee replacement in August.

We have passed on all of your good wishes and cards.
Regular patients of Sue will be aware of her long-term struggle with her knees. Early signs are very good.
Always top of the class Sue is impressing the Surgeons with her recovery. Sue puts her good progress down to the Karate exercises, where she was able to mobilise her knees and maintain some strength over the past years. Sue wishes everyone well and is looking forward to returning to StJohns following a full recovery. Beth Greves, the hygienist at our sister Practice Cadbury Dental is covering Sue’s sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Beth

Beth has worked within dentistry for over ten years. She qualified as a dental nurse in 1996 and then went on to graduate as a dental hygienist from Birmingham University School of Hygiene in 2003 with an additional award for the best hygienist in practice. She joined the Cadbury Practice in 2004.

Outside work Beth enjoys keeping fit, travelling and socialising with friends.

Sept 2006

We are considering an evening session for the hygienists every Tuesday 5-7.30pm. Please contact Debbie Meadows, Practice Manager, at reception, for more details.

Rob

Earlier this year Dr Rob Tennet was chosen by AstraTech UK to go on a tour of their HQ in Gottenburg Sweden.

Astra Tech Dental Implants are one of the largest and fastest growing dental implant companies in the world. They are owned by Astra Zeneca one of the biggest Drug companies in the world. They have a very impressive Research & Development programme to back up the clinical trials that support their system.

Gottenburg is a natural deep-water port as well as Astra Zeneca, Volvo cars is based there. The other main business is timber export. Sweden

It is usually cold and windy; fortunately it was unseasonably warm for our stay although the Ice in the Harbour reminded us just how freezing it gets. Social events included a boat tour of the Lilla Bommen islands and a dinner at Rada Sateri (A traditional Swedish Manor House), which has been frequented by various European & American Leaders. The programme provided information on some new developments in the Astra stable and the opportunity to exchange ideas with other implantologists.
